a native of southern Missouri, holds an MFA from the University of Arkansas. He relocated to Youngstown in 1978. He has been exhibiting art the aegis of the Youngstown Mattress Company Gallery. The 1998 Fine Arts Holiday Exhibition marked the debut of the Coy Cornelius Studios and Gallery.

Assisting Cornelius, is a local artist Joyce Bielik, who completed a BFA at Youngstown State University in 1997. Joyce is a working sculptor, having worked on a variety of projects including restoring turn-of-the-century statuary for St. Anthony's Church in Youngstown. She shares studio space in the building and assists with building management and art program administration.

Coy Cornelius Studios and Gallery invites individual and group proposals from area artists interested in catalyzing artistic and cultural development. The studios/Gallery offers opportunities for emerging artists to produce and display their work, and encourages artists to work together to promote original art and creative awareness in Youngstown.
